Understanding the Budget and the Tax Levy Lid Lift

Former Council Member Diane Buckshnis and concerned citizen Jim Ogonowski hosted an “Understanding the Budget and Levy Lid Lift” fireside chat for a group at the library. The two-hour session explained how the budget is developed, including capital projects, and what it means for the Council to approve a balanced budget. Mr. Ogonowski explained an alternative 2026 budget scenario that would address the original $6.0 million need for new revenues.  He has shared this information with the City. The presentation material is shown here.
